Who Are GK?:

LoKi (host): Creator of Gaijin Kanpai. More into the rock stuff. HYDE fanboy. Kind of a dick sometimes but that's what makes him entertaining.

Zer0 (host): The token geek chick and "Human JMusic Encyclopedia". More into the pop stuff. Ayu & Tohoshinki fangirl. Kind of a bitch sometimes but that's what makes her entertaining.

Jaylee (host): The gay best friend. More into the urban stuff. UNDER GRAPH and EXILE fanboy. Kind of sweet and probably the smartest of the bunch.

Erin Grace (features writer): The MoonSpeaker. More into the rock stuff. THE GLAY fangirl. Not as up to date on the J-scene as the hosts, but always eager to catch up and learn about the newest acts.

 

About The Shows

Gaijin Kanpai! is a weekly podcast released every Sunday covering Japanese music news, reviews, and commentary. We play with the format every now & then but right now it consists of:

  • News: General discussion of various Japanese entertainment news stories from the week, including charts, gossip, and release news.
  • Single Review: One of us recommends a single to review each week, usually a recent release, and then we discuss it in the next show.
  • Album Review: One of us recommends a recent album to review, also usually recent, but sometimes up to a year old.

Sporatic segments include:

  • Go-fun Keikoku: We each got five minutes to talk about anything related to japanese entertainment that we wanted. Whatever we've found interesting that week, we'd talk about.
  • Top 5: Every other week we'd do a different Top 5 theme and give our personal Top 5 list for you to check out.

We're drunk to at least some degree when we record the show, hence the "Kanpai" in our name. We're also all white kids, hence the "Gaijin" in our name. Our sense of humor is rather on the wrong side of things. Shows are recorded Thursdays at 19:30est.

 

GK Dorama Club (CURRENTLY ON HIATUS)is a weekly podcast released every Thursday centering around hosts LoKi and Zer0 watching and reviewing JDorama. Each week, 3-4 episodes of a particular drama series are reviewed including episode synopsis, thoughts and predictions. Listener participation is encouraged as we'd like you to watch along with us. Emails regarding the week's episodes can be sent to Fans@DoramaClub.com. The shows are recorded Tuesdays at 19:30est.
